Established in 2022, The Frame Maker is a dedicated creative hub nestled in a historic former cattleshed-turned-cottage in the heart of Horbury, Wakefield. Deeply rooted in the local community, we pride ourselves on being more than just a workshop; we are a collaborative partner for artists, helping to elevate and preserve their work through meticulous craftsmanship. As we continue to grow, we are thrilled to be developing our newest venture, 'Foster & Walker'—a collaborative project designed to further bridge the gap between traditional framing excellence and innovative artistic partnerships. At our core, we believe that every piece of art deserves a frame that honors its story, crafted with the same passion that the artist poured into the canvas.

Andy Foster is a creative entrepreneur whose career is defined by a "learn by doing" ethos and a deep-seated passion for craftsmanship. Beginning his journey in 2005 within the realms of graphic design and print production, Andy developed a keen eye for visual precision that would later become his hallmark. This technical foundation was bolstered by years spent renovating properties in London, a period that sharpened his structural intuition and hands-on problem-solving skills. In 2022, he took a bold leap into the unknown by establishing The Frame Maker; despite having no formal background in the trade, his dedication to the craft allowed him to build a business rooted in quality and authenticity. Driven by a desire to uplift others, Andy expanded his vision in 2023 by founding the Horbury Art Hub, a dedicated community space designed to provide resources and a supportive network for striving artists. Through Foster & Walker, he combines his structural expertise and community-building spirit with a refined artistic sensibility to redefine the relationship between art and its display.

Phoebe Walker is a multifaceted artist, illustrator, and graphic designer whose work is defined by a sophisticated eye for colour and composition. A graduate of Leeds Arts University, she honed her craft specialising in Printed Textiles & Surface Pattern Design, a background that informs the intricate textures and rhythmic layouts found in her current portfolio. Since establishing Phoebe Walker Designs in 2022, her distinctive prints have found homes across the globe, resonating with a worldwide audience through their vibrant, expressive energy. Now, Phoebe brings this rich, artist-led perspective to the Foster & Walker collaboration, bridging the worlds of fine art and bespoke framing. Her approach ensures that every project is viewed through the lens of a designer, focusing on how pattern, materiality, and visual storytelling can transform a finished piece into a true work of art.
